Dan Brunette

Community partner and co-operative sector lead

Dan Brunette joined Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada as Director, Advocacy and Partnerships in February of 2019. In his role, he engages with various federal government stakeholders to advance the co-operative economy and works with a broad spectrum of organizations to raise awareness, remove obstacles, and leverage opportunities. In addition, his role includes oversight on research that CMC is involved with and scholarships programs. 

 

Daniel has more than 20 years of philanthropic management and stakeholder relations experience with non-profit organizations. He also has extensive experience as a community volunteer and has served on numerous Boards and Committees, including being the current Chair of Outaouais Philanthropy, a new community foundation being established. Some of his previous volunteer roles include being Chair of the Government Relations Committee of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Canada (AFP) from 2015-2018 as well as the former President of the AFP Ottawa Chapter from 2013-2015.  

Daniel was awarded the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in 1996 and a United Way Ottawa Community Builder Award in 2015. He is a proud husband and father of two.
